This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach using the Body Flicker Technique, the moment an attack hits. This creates an optical illusion, making the enemy think the attack was successful. The user can then use this confusion to escape or launch a counter-attack. Exploding tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise.

The anime has a number of other objects being used for this jutsu, such as a boulder, mud, a scarecrow, and even a large rolled-up carpet. These items are usually nowhere in sight, suggesting that they are merely gags meant to lighten up the situation and not an actual part of the jutsu. Additionally, the normal practice of switching places with a section of log is done in several places that have no such thing anywhere nearby.

This jutsu is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed.[2] To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalise the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and their intended destination. Shisui Uchiha was feared as "Shisui of the Body Flicker" (??????, Shunshin no Shisui), likely referring to this technique.

The Body Flicker Technique has various variations among the different hidden villages, all of which involve some extra element aside from the movement itself. The extra element is usually some sort of substance used to distract the opponent, such as leaves or sand. Gaara, for instance, uses the Sand Body Flicker (???, Suna-Shunshin), which uses sand to cover his movements. Other varieties include the Mist Body Flicker (???, Kiri-Shunshin), Water Body Flicker (???, Mizu-Shunshin), and Leaf Body Flicker (?????, Konoha-Shunshin). The Fourth Raikage combined the Body Flicker Technique with the Lightning Release Armor which allowed him to dodge even Amaterasu in a split second.

A jutsu known by some Kirigakure Hunter-nin, the user makes rain which eats up the chakra it comes into contact with, such as Utakata's Soap Bubble Ninjutsu and Naruto's Rasengan.

Name: Hidden Mist Technique

Description:
This displacement technique is a specialty of the Ninja from Kirigakure, where one causes a mist to spring forth by lifting up some water, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan-user will see the mist colored by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dojutsu.

Description:
The Water Clone Technique is similar to the Shadow Clone Technique except it creates clones out of water. Like other solid clone techniques, the clones can be used to perform tasks the user is unable or unwilling to do for themselves. The range of the clone is limited however, as it can not travel very far from the original body. Additionally, water clones only have one-tenth of the original person's power, as stated by Haku. Like other clone techniques, if the water clones are injured enough they will revert back to normal water.

Description
Kuroma creates a flow of gushing water under the opponent which traps them in a sphere of water. Kuroma can perform an attack while the opponent is trapped. This jutsu is similar to Water Prison Technique, though Kuroma doesn't need to keep his arm in the sphere of water.

Description:
The user kneads chakra, and converts it into water, and then spits it out in the form of condensated balls. The high-speed waterball attack possesses just as much power to kill as an actual gunshot. While this is a water release technique, it can still be employed someplace where no water is available, which is a great advantage. It's also possible to increase the power of destruction of the balls themselves by building up the chakra inside of them. The number of bullets is determined while kneading chakra. By taking advantage of gravity, the bullets can brutally increase in power.

The user presses the spear into the ground causing it to buck and pierces upwards. Often used in conjunction with River Splitter.

Description:
The spear is swung sideways to inflict blunt damage to the opponent with the shaft of the spear. When used in conjunction with River Splitter, it augments the slashing effect of River Splitter causing it to be sliced down sideways. In conjunction with Reverse Splitter, it causes the spear to buck wildly making the trajectory of the spear to be unpredictable and augments it's piercing effect.

A thrust made by the user by shifting the grip to the edge of the shaft causing the spear to swing about wildly. Augments the destructive capabilities of River Splitter, Reverse Splitter, Wave when all is used in conjunction together.

Name: Amatsu-Mikaboshi (lit August Star of Heaven)

Description:
Amatsu-Mikaboshi is technique that Hagane obtain through the study of unknown ancient scrolls depicting the universe before the creation of the world. It is said to represent the primordial evil of all creations, the "Absolute Darkness and Control".

The moment the seal is released, black smoke starts to surrounds Hagane as it phases through him and enters him. It feeds on Hagane's chakra and immensely increases his hand to hand fighting capabilities and also giving him the abilities of turning into black smoke. In this state, Hagane is rendered immune to any form of normal physical attacks and rendering him immune to yin yang and elemental forms of ninjutsu.

Though similar to the invoking of one's chakra to augments their abilities, this technique instead removes the human limit present on one's body, spirit and mind and as a result, one is not able to realise their own undoing. (attacks deals five times its original damage) (consumes half of Hagane's remaining chakra when activated)

What kind of weapon: 13 spears, wrapped up in a cloth that Musuko carries on his back

What does it do: The spears are able to seal the souls of those that are cut by it permanently in an another dimension. The spear creates a black line on the surface it cuts. For the spears to seal its target, all 13 spears must be on the target.
