Background story:
Growing up in poor town outside of the country of Earth, Hiroshi lived the average poor child life. Scavenged for food, raided ships, pickpocketing the wealthy. Life for Hiroshi wasn't so good. At the age of 15, he joined a pirate/bandit group known as the Savage Serpent Raiders, he abandoned his family to try and live a better life. After gaining wealth and giving it to his family, they move to the village hidden in the Grass. A year after gaining title of Pirate General, a group of rogue ninjas night raided the S.S.R.'s ship.

Though Hiroshi fought of the majority of the rogue ninjas, their boss, Don Oda, killed Hiroshi's brother Hanataro. Hanataro was a Kusagakure ninja and a great one at it. He was the praised member of the Takenawa family and was against the idea of Hiroshi being in a pirate gang. Hiroshi tried to convince him that the gang would never betray him, until the night raid where they all left him. Hanataro loving Hiroshi, abandoned his mission to save his younger brother, dying in the process.

Hiroshi enraged takes Hanataro's kusarigama, Kusa-ryuu Hane, (Grass dragon Wing) and kills Don Oda. Though it was ninja who killed his brother, Hiroshi chose to become a ninja for his brother's sake. Starting his ninja life at the age of 19, he was the oldest genin in his class. Wanting to join his classmates of his age he trained for days until he thought himself fit to be a chuunin. He graduated first of his class and was instantly turned into a chuunin.

Though he was what some of the other ninjas called a noob, he had two sensei that he could soon become great friends with. Yamamoto Yuri, the greatest ninja to wield a sword of their generation and Sanada Kurenai, the fastest and greatest medical ninja also of their generation. The Sanada and Takeshi Clans were the most honored clans in Kusagakure. If one were to befriend either a Sanada or Yamamoto, they would be honored with a rank-up suggestion from said Sanada/Yamamoto. Kurenai and Yuri, finding great potential in Hiroshi, both recommended him for rank-up to Jounin.

Though Kurenai and Yuri were the same age as Hiroshi they were still his upperclassmen. To gain the same title as Kurenai and Yuri, he took on A-Rank missions, from assassinating large mob bosses to participating in a defense against a fellow country rebellion. No matter what the task, Hiroshi stayed calm and thought everything through, leading to success. Being the best chuunin of all the classes, Hiroshi also started to become cocky. His cockiness questioned whether he should turn into Jounin or not.

Based on skill, Hiroshi eventually became a Jounin and lost his cockiness after two consecutive mission fails. Hiroshi, Kurenai, and Yuri were the greatest Jounin Kusagakure has ever seen. The Young Sanada/Takeshi Duo and the Rising Grass Star were all compatible to become the leader of their village. All of them being humble, they didn't care who became the leader of their village as long as that shinobi knew how to lead. Now at the age 25, Hiroshi was proud to be a close friend to the new village leader, Sanada Kurenai.

Yamamoto Yuri took control of the Yamamoto Clan and created an alliance with the Sanada Clan, becoming the greatest Clan Alliance in the country. Both Yuri and Kurenai were successfully maintaining their leading roles and Hiroshi, just being the number one shinobi in Kusagakure. He chose not to be given a title, wanting to just be a normal Jounin. Though he may have the title of an average Jounin, everyone shall know him as the Hero of the Grass. His biggest achievement so far was leading the Resistance force against the rebels, during the Kusagakure Rebellion three years ago. Takenawa Hiroshi hopes to gain more successes in the future, with his village supporting him all the way.

Soon after turning into a chuunin and informing his family about it, his father brought him deeper into the bamboo forest to tell him about the family secret. His ancestors were ninja of a special type of jutsu, related to Kusagakure. They specialized in a plant jutsu, being able to control and incorporate vines, leaves, grass and other such greenery into their jutsu. Hiroshi's brother was told by their father when he became chuunin. After training and learning how to use this plant jutsu, Hiroshi became a stronger shinobi. Though the newly learned element increased Hiroshi's ninjutsu strength, he had to limit its use for it might take over his will and make him one with the nature.
Having to hide his family's ability, he appeared to be an average ninja.
